Job Description:

Position Summary:

  • The ASA shall work closely with client IT leadership and will be responsible in support of the designated IT-OPS support staff member, for the proper maintenance, documentation and support of certain applications. This position requires strong verbal, analytical and written communication skills. 

The candidate will perform the following:

  • Application Systems Support
  • Implementation Of Internal And Cots Application Updates, Upgrades And New Implementation,
  • Hardware Support
  • Perform user administration tasks for all internal and COTS applications (e.g. 0365, etc.),
  • Hardware support and implementation including: provisioning new desktops, laptops, and tablets with default images ensuring that all requiredsecurity applications, operating systems software etc. is kept up to date.
  • The Analyst is responsible for ensuring high availability of all related business applications through strict adherence to all client processes, ensuring compliance with the established Confidentiality of data, Security, Quality Assurance, Change Management, and Release Management practices.
  • This position reports directly to Applications Manager and the Bureau's designated IT Program Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Aspen suite application updates, upgrades and new implementations
  • Generate and execute plans regarding rolling out updates, upgrades and new implementations
  • Support the designated IT-OPS staff member in the performance of their duties
  • Perform user administration tasks for all internal and COTS applications (e.g. 0365, etc.)
  • Implement internal and COTS application updates, upgrades and new implementations
  • Provide technical assistance and information to technical and non-technical users
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve and automate current processes
  • Ensure adherence and compliance to department policies, guidelines and objectives
  • Collaborate across multiple teams including research, architecture, design, development and support teams

Experience and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office application suite (e.g. Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Word, etc.)
  • Strong Windows OS administration experience
  • Knowledge of Applications Security including Authentication and Role Based Access Control
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing technical specifications, detailed work plans and schedules
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with both internal staff and external clients
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (clearly and succinctly)
  • Strong adherence to source control, version management and/or Configuration management practices
  • Experienced in providing ongoing maintenance and support of IT systems and User communities
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a large team
  • Experienced in maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases (preferred but not required)
  • Windows .bat or Windows PowerShell scriptingexperience (preferred but not required)
  • Intermediate SQL query-writing skills and Linux/Unix scripting (preferred but not required)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Management or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of experience in performing application support on Windows and/or UNIX servers
  • 2+ years of experience in application testing
  • 2+ years of experience developing PL/SQL code
