The Applications Engineering Manager is responsible for the management and technical direction of the applications engineering activities.
The responsibilities of this group include the evaluation and characterization of new power IC products, development of product launch collateral, including hardware, documentation, printed articles and papers, training material for both field and customers and the definition and development of our world class software tools for power supply design (PIExpert).
The Applications Engineering Manager must communicate and liaise effectively with other functional groups, especially the Sales and Marketing departments. The ability to manage priorities well and balance strategic and tactical goals makes this a very challenging and high profile position, reporting directly to the Director of Applications Engineering.
The successful candidate should have strong skills and experience in embedded firmware design, MCU coding, digital interfaces, and lab automation, while also possessing experience with AC-DC or DC-DC power conversion. The candidate must ave excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
BSEE degree or equivalent is an absolute minimum requirement. A MSEE degree is preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of industry related experience is required with at least five years in a management position.
Experience in a semiconductor company, design or applications engineering group, or a power systems design group in an electronics company.
