Job Description and Requirements
Provides technical support to company customers and field engineers who encounter problems with company products during integrated circuit design and verification. Support process includes diagnosing, troubleshooting, providing workarounds for product bugs, and providing solutions for a wide range of complex issues covering: usage, methodology, product defects, interoperability, licensing, and installation.Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineering/software engineering. May be involved in customer installation and training. Provides support to customer/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature. Executes remote projects from external customers. May be deployed at customer sites for long periods of time with moderate supervision. May be required to deliver customer training and supervise labs at Synopsys or customer locations. Some content creation/review may also be required.
Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience. Possesses a full understanding of specialization area plus working knowledge of multiple related areas. Independently resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways on a regular basis. Customarily exercises independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions. Performs in project leadership role. Contributes to complex aspects of a project. Determines and develops approach to solutions. Works on team-driven or task-oriented projects. May guide more junior peers with aspects of their job. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
