As we continue to grow, we're seeking a talented Applications Engineer to join our team and play a key role in supporting our customers.
Responsibilities - Collaborate with the Sales and Engineering teams to understand customer requirements and recommend the most suitable EV battery solutions for their applications.
- Provide technical support to customers throughout the integration process, ensuring successful implementation of our battery technology in their EV designs.
- Analyze customer test results and present to internal engineering and management teams as required.
- Develop and deliver technical training and presentations to educate customers on our EV battery products, functionalities, and best practices.
- Build relationships with customers' engineering teams to gain insight into potential areas of concern or technology gaps
- Participate in the development of application notes, white papers, and other technical documentation to support customer needs.
- Cycle life, discharge rates, capacity evaluation, internal impedance, etc.
- Experience with high energy density such as lithium metal anodes technologies is highly desired
- Analyze customer data and feedback to identify trends and opportunities for product improvement and application development.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in EV battery technology, industry standards, and competitor landscape.
- Travel to customer sites for technical support, application demonstrations, and training sessions up to 35%-50% of time.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a technical role related to battery technology, power electronics, or electric vehicles (EVs) is preferred.
- Experience with pack design specific to high energy density applications
- Familiarity with the cell and pack qualification/certification programs and requirements
- Strong understanding of lithium-ion battery principles, manufacturing, operation, and safety considerations.
- Understand how lithium ion and lithium metal anode cells work, are designed, and manufactured.
- Experience with battery management systems (BMS) and battery modeling and testing is required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service orientation and a commitment to exceeding customer expectations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical software (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink) is desired.
