Reporting directly to the Director of the Advanced Development Group for Communications Power Business Unit, this candidate will have the ability to define and set deliverables, establish system modeling process flow and achieve desired results, should have demonstrated history in the functions noted below.
Highly efficient in complex in optical communication and analog and digital system modeling
Deep understanding of optical signal transmission architectures, design & tradeoffs
Deep understanding of Matlab modeling environment and system emulation transfer using RF real time scopes, RF AWGs, and other optical components required to emulate entire optical transmission system
Deep understanding of signal Integrity, electrical channel modeling, optical device modeling and channel modeling.
Experience with various modulation formats (e.g., single carrier like M-PAM/NRZ, or multi-carrier like OFDM, DMT).
Experience with optical modulators such as VCSEL, FP, DFB, EML, MZM-Interferometers
Experience with optical direct detection, coherent detection, and the fundamental digital signal processing DSP algorithms such as polarization de-multiplexing and clock/carrier recovery, is required.
Proactive, collaborative and creative approach to innovation, technical development and consensus facilitation to influence optimal project results.
Excellent time and task management, and inter-personal skills.
Willingness to travel when required.
Masters of Science (preferably PhD), in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
