The Applications Engineer is responsible for promoting the sale of the Division's SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) products which requires engineering knowledge sufficient to make judgments involving applications, installations, and economic consideration, as well as, handling all customer and distributor inquiries requiring technical assistance.

  • Handles application inquiries and recommends appropriate SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technologies/equipment with a high sense of urgency and in a timely manner
  • Provides quotations, both written and verbal, in accordance with ERP and published price lists, electronic quote tool and contractual discount schedules; performs necessary follow-up
  • Assists customers with troubleshooting problems, handles customer complaints, and solves problems in a prompt, professional manner; may be involved in investigating and reporting on warranty claims and return goods authorization (RGA) process
  • Performs technical specification review including application review, technology selection, definition of scope of supply, listing of applicable comments and exceptions, etc.
  • Performs costing analysis, when necessary, on product line items versus published pricing to arrive at gross margin calculation for review and approval by Applications and Sales Managers
  • Coordinates customer delivery requirements with the Production Department
  • Recommends modifications to standard products to meet individual customer requirements, within practical company and economic limitations
  • Takes necessary actions to increase sales of the Division's products
  • Represents, on occasion, and if necessary, the division at trade shows as well as potential visits to customer or distributor location for sales or service-related activities
  • Assists in creating marketing literature, website development and other system tools to boost productivity and sales
  • Other job duties as assigned.


  • Education: B.S. Degree (engineering) preferred; 4 year degree required
  • Experience: 5-10 years experience in SCR equipment applications
  • Experience with Refinery and Petrochemical Market preferred
