Application Systems Analyst I - Java Developer
JAVA developer with knowledge of Web Sphere. Linux and Oracle to assist with the implementation of CGI's CACS 9.2 system. This resource will be responsible for writing Web Services to integrate with this system in addition to external systems.
Essential Position Responsibilities
Performs routine systems analysis and development. Assists the client in addressing problems/issues of small scope. Analyzes information, determines feasible solutions and makes recommendations.
Evaluates and understands simple interrelationships and effects within applications.
Assists in determining data and systems requirements to develop technical and functional specifications. Prepares system flow charts to describe the existing and proposed system(s). May assist in the preparation of logic flow charts.
Prepares and executes detailed test plans for small scope efforts. Performs any required debugging. Updates systems documentation.
Participates in the development of technical assessments to include required tasks, estimated time frames and effort for small scope projects, to be reviewed by a more senior team member.
Provides consultation services to clients, technicians and Bank departments relating to the basic functions of supported applications. This may also include the review of system capabilities, operational procedures, forms, marketing materials, or cost analysis.
Develops a good understanding of the business and its functions, processes and operations.
Performs other related duties as required.
Follows development standards and procedures.
Nature and Scope
The incumbent works under the general direction of a more senior team member and supervision of the Technical Team Leader and receives direct but not constant supervision.
The Application Systems Analyst I is competent to work on certain phases of systems analysis, design and application development with general direction, but requires instruction and guidance for other phases.
The Application Systems Analyst I must possess basic knowledge to support the application(s) and interacts on a regular basis with other technology personnel.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Associate’s degree in technical field of study plus a minimum of one year relevant work experience.
In lieu of degree, a minimum of two years relevant work experience is required, plus one year systems analysis and application development.
Distributed System Development
Knowledgeable and familiar with application development support software and hardware platforms.
Has a general knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (i.e. Excel or Word).
Ability to perform routine problem analysis and resolution.
Possesses a working knowledge of technology.
Familiar with what and how the supported application(s) functions are used by the client.
