Applications Systems Analyst/Programmer 3 employees formulate and define system scope and objectives based on client needs. They devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. They are responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Applications Systems Analyst/Programmer 3 employees are differentiated from Applications Systems Analyst/Programmer 2 employees by their fully-developed technical skills and emerging advanced skills, more complex and longer-term work assignments, latitude to apply skills to solve most problems without review, and latitude to devise the approach and method to performing assignments. They regularly perform long-term or non-routine assignments with minimal supervisory intervention, seeking assistance when significant deviations are proposed, or when unprecedented problems arise.
They train, serve as a resource, and provide guidance to Applications Systems Analyst/Programmer 2 employees on non-routine problems, processes, and policies. They assist senior staff in developing approaches to problem-solving and anticipating issues. Their interactions are with fellow team members, coordinating team members, assigned student, faculty, and/or staff clients, and external vendors or service providers. They regularly work toward specific team goals and assist clients in achieving their teams' goals.
Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering. A minimum of three years of experience with data science and/or mathematical and statistical analysis of time series data is required.
Advanced degree in mathematics, computer science, data science or engineering is preferred, and may substitute for experience. Applicants must have knowledge on MS Windows, Matlab and LINUX.
