Responsible for the analysis, development, modification, installation, testing and maintenance of operating systems software. Evaluates vendor supplied software packages and makes recommendations to IT management. Modifies and/or debugs vendor-supplied utilities and packages. Modifies, installs and prepares technical documentation for system software applications. Diagnoses, isolates and de-bugs software problems and performs problem resolution. Monitors systems capacity and performance, plans and executes disaster recovery procedures and provides Tier 2 technical support. Works closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization's architectural standards. Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. Responsibilities may also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy versus build recommendations. In addition to the responsibilities of an application engineer, this position acts as a mentor and oversees the rest of the team members. Manages service queue and responds to customer's requests by assessing the work load, prioritizing and assigning the work load to the team. May act as a mentor to more junior team members.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Minimum Experience: 8 years job specific experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Lead the execution of application installations and upgrades following work instructions in great detail with the ability to analyze and identify potential errors in the instructions to ensure successful application deployments.
Knowledge of application interfaces and system integrations using APIs, ETLs, FTP, etc. to troubleshoot and resolve application operational issues meeting SLA targets.
Coordination of incidents, outages, and problems to full resolution including the documenting and entering of tickets in ServiceNow for incidents, outages, problems and changes.
Demonstrated understanding of application and environment configuration as well as supporting Configure and support both test and production systems.
Develop and document processes to improve efficiency in supporting application systems and author knowledgebase articles using the ServiceNow knowledgebase system.
Ensures that software deployment plans are executed per the work instructions and reviews the plan before execution to resolve any potential issues.
Responsible for 24 X 7 support and monitoring of enterprise systems with demonstrated experience with scheduling and monitoring toolsets.
Experience coordinating with vendors in resolving and determining root cause of system problems in restoring application services.
Demonstrates ability to design, construct and analyze Write basic SQL queries a plus.
Strong attention to detail in executing Execute tasks and providing update status to Project and Release Managers.
Takes ownership of issues and collaborates Work with Help Desk and Development staff to drive issues to full resolution.
Performs other duties as assigned.
