Job Description

Fueled by a fundamental belief that having access to financial services creates opportunity, PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) is committed to democratizing financial services and empowering people and businesses to join and thrive in the global economy. Our open digital payments platform gives PayPal’s 210 million active account holders the confidence to connect and transact in new and powerful ways, whether they are online, on a mobile device, in an app, or in person. Through a combination of technological innovation and strategic partnerships, PayPal creates better ways to manage and move money, and offers choice and flexibility when sending payments, paying or getting paid. Available in more than 200 markets around the world, the PayPal platform, including Braintree, Venmo and Xoom enables consumers and merchants to receive money in more than 100 currencies, withdraw funds in 56 currencies and hold balances in their PayPal accounts in 25 currencies.

PayPal’s Web Applications team is looking for ambitious developers to join us in being completely awesome! We’re looking for talented Javascript application developers with a passion for User Experience and a desire to question all assumptions to make our products better across the board. We are an experimentation-driven group that includes both Product a/b testing and working with new technologies to up-level everything we do and deliver. PayPal has been at the forefront of building Node.js applications for “the enterprise” both internally with our own products and externally with open source projects like Kraken.js. As part of our Online Payments team, you’ll join us in our goal of making PayPal the best possible choice for paying online. We’re looking for people who want to collaborate broadly rather than acting like a short-order cook. Our whole team pours our energy into these products and we want people to join us who want to be a part of the product. What we do matters—both to us and to millions of people around the world. Join us and build stuff that matters!

• Independently and collaboratively design, build, and test web application experiences for consumers
• Partner closely with design & product teams to craft great product experiences and suggest test variants for exploration
• Work effectively to foster a strong team environment.
• Drive both technology and product innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
• Bring product and code improvement ideas to the team.

  • Knowledge of Web technologies that we use including JavaScript, Node.js, CSS, Angular.js and React
  • Understanding of JavaScript application design and testing
  • Knowledge with cross-browser, cross-platform, and design constraints on the Web
  • A constant desire to grow, learn, and explore new things
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS or related field with minimum experience of 2 years of experience.

We're a purpose-driven company whose beliefs are the foundation for how we conduct business every day. We hold ourselves to our One Team Behaviors which demand that we hold the highest ethical standards, to empower an open and diverse workplace, and strive to treat everyone who is touched by our business with dignity and respect. Our employees challenge the status quo, ask questions, and find solutions. We want to break down barriers to financial empowerment. Join us as we change the way the world defines financial freedom.
