The Workplace Hub Application Engineer position is responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and growing out applications developed by Konica Minolta's Solutions Engineering Center (SEC) for Konica Minolta's Workplace Hub platform. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to join and work with the latest office technologies and help shape future technologies. As a member of a small team, the successful candidate will be able to play an important role in the evolution of Konica Minolta's device platforms while working with the latest technologies.

Essential Job Functions

In addition to a strong technical background the ideal candidate should show the ability to think critically, gather information and problem solve in a team environment. The candidate will need to become an expert in their related technologies and be willing to support others in usage of these platforms.

  • Develop standalone and server-based software applications
  • Generate application prototypes to test viability of device platforms
  • Utilize public and private APIs to integrate applications for users of the device platforms
  • Utilize distributed version control in a team environment (Git, Mercurial)
  • Working with third party companies to integrate their products with the devices

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Languages: C#, JavaScript, Python, Go, Java
  • Web Technologies: HTML5, CSS3, WebSockets, WebRTC, JSON, XML, SOAP
  • Web Servers: Nginx, Apache2
  • Virtualization: KVM, LXC, Docker, VirtualBox
  • Operating Systems: Linux (Debian & Ubuntu), Windows Server
  • Experience building and consuming Web APIs using JSON.
  • Fluent with various web browsers (Chrome & Chromium, Webkit, Firefox, Edge & Internet Explorer, Safari).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivating and self-learning.
  • Experience with packaging applications for, and shell scripting on Debian, Ubuntu and/or other Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Open source code you are proud of.

Experience, Educational Requirements and Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related degree concentration & 5+ years of proven experience developing web applications.
