Position Title: Application Engineer, Datacenter Downstream

Location: Peachtree Corners, GA/Remote

The Application Engineer - Datacenter Downstream will play a pivotal role in driving Siemens' market growth by strategically identifying and developing high-potential opportunities within data center downstream applications and external panel builder segments. This role requires a blend of keen strategic thinking, leveraging diverse data sources to analyze market trends and define actionable strategies, coupled with hands-on sales enablement. The specialist will serve as a critical partner to regional sales teams, providing expert pricing, technical guidance, and direct customer engagement to secure business, while also applying their deep product knowledge in transformers, panelboards, and switchboards to craft compelling solution packages.

You will make an impact with the following responsibilities:
  • Strategic Market Opportunity Development: Spearhead the identification and definition of high-potential market opportunities for Siemens apparatus and related products, with a particular focus on data center downstream applications and external panel builder collaborations. This involves leveraging diverse data sources to conduct in-depth analysis, developing a clear strategy for where the biggest opportunities lie, and translating insights into actionable plans.
  • Collaborative Sales Enablement & Execution: Act as a critical partner to regional sales teams, ensuring comprehensive market coverage and the successful pursuit of identified opportunities. Provide hands-on support throughout the sales cycle, including expert pricing assistance, technical guidance, and direct customer engagement through site visits to help close deals.
  • Solution Packaging & Commercial Management: Develop and manage comprehensive product packages for direct sales opportunities, drawing on your expertise in transformers, panelboards, and switchboards. Lead the commercial aspects, including precise pricing and quoting, in close collaboration with the Mixed Apparatus Pricing team to deliver competitive and winning proposals.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to pipeline development, sales conversion rates, market share, and revenue growth within assigned segments. Provide regular reports and insights to management.
  • Forecasting & Planning Input: Contribute to sales forecasting and strategic planning processes by providing accurate market insights, opportunity assessments, and actionable recommendations.
  • Voice of Customer (VoC) Integration: Gather and synthesize customer feedback, requirements, and pain points related to Siemens products and solutions in the datacenter and panel builder space. Translate these insights into actionable recommendations for product development, service enhancements, and sales strategies.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering management or business marketing.
  • 5 plus years of direct engineering experience can be a possible substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • 5 plus years of demonstrated product knowledge in electrical distribution products.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal / non-verbal and technical / non-technical.
  • Proven ability to conduct in-depth market analysis, identify emerging trends, and translate complex data into clear, actionable strategies and business opportunities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically (~25-50%).
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in direct customer interaction, understanding customer needs, and building strong, lasting relationships to drive business outcomes.
  • Intermediate level of skill and capability with COMPAS Go.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience providing direct sales support, including pricing, technical consultation, and customer-facing presentations/visits.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) for pipeline management and reporting.

The pay range for this position is $91,463 - $156,794. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.

The pay range for this position is $91,463 - $156,794 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
