Position Title: Application Engineer - Circuit Protection & Controls
Location: Peachtree Corners, GA/Grand Prairie, TX (Remote)
The Application Engineer for Circuit Protection & Controls (CP&C). It is part of the Siemens Smart Infrastructure operating company, Electrical Products business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing applications associated with resources to grow the AMPLIFY Program within CP&C business. The role is an individual contributor role, reporting to the Head of Application Engineering.

This is an ideal role for an experienced technical with marketing and Manufacturing insights in the electrical products industry, or for an individual with an engineering, automation or industrial controls background who has a strong technical aptitude and experience in articulating applications and value proposition messaging. The ideal candidate would be highly motivated, possess strong communication and teamwork skills, and have experience in the electrical industry.
You will make an impact with the following responsibilities: - The overall responsibility of this position is to plan, create and execute technical applications and related documentation for the CP&C segment AMPLIFY program.
- Technical solution development, value proposition development and articulation, creation and deployment of customers facing marketing messaging, digital content creation and deployment, tradeshow and event content planning and creation, internal and external stakeholder relationship management.
- This is a cross-functional role that will involve regular coordination with many departments including but not limited to Business Segment Heads, marketing, sales, business development leaders, product management, Product Development Engineering and application engineering, both with CP&C and with adjacent segments and business units across the US.
- This position is a key technical resource for AMPLIFY Program within EP CP&C and reports directly to the Head of Application Engineering.
- This role also works as a peer to CP&C Business Development, Sales Management and Sales Engineers to plan, prioritize and execute technical application development for Siemens design panelboards and switchboard.
- Developing and maintaining business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Addressing challenges and resolving issues in the technical realm and customer relationship.
- Collaborating with various internal stakeholders, including application engineering, product managers, R&D, Manufacturing operations, and supply chain teams.
- Providing technical support and consulting services to customers, leveraging knowledge of applicable standards such as NEC, ANSI, UL and manufacturing techniques.
- Demonstrating expertise in low-voltage circuit protection.
- Assist the AMPLIFY Program Manager in executing special projects and activities to ensure adherence to program timelines.
- Lead special project teams comprising members from various business units, sales, and support groups within EP and shared services.
- Contribute to the account business planning process by collaborating with sales and business unit resources.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with both existing and new customers.
- Provide support and training for customers/targets as needed.
- Sales and End-user collaboration on technical applications, Training and application documentation, tradeshow and event content planning and execution, and digital asset creation and deployment.
- This role serves as a technical leader that supports low-voltage components of electrical products for industrial, infrastructure, energy, and commercial applications, focusing on monitoring, switching, controlling, and protecting AC and DC circuits under 1000V. Specifically, AMPLIFY Program cater to a diverse range of panelboard and switchboard builders, including power original equipment manufacturers (Power OEMs).
You'll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or material engineering.
- 3 plus years of electrical distribution equipment design and manufacturing experience.
- Experienced in designing, building, and testing electrical distribution equipment (panelboards, switchboards, switchgear) with a familiarity in manufacturing machinery and processes.
- Strong technical aptitude - ability to create, interpret and direct technical strategies in conjunction with subject matter experts.
- Strong data analysis, problem solving, and presentation skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (~30%).
- Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications: - Exhibit strong relationship-building and commercial aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and hands-on.
- Ability to multitask and manage diverse product management staff and activities per schedule.
- Knowledge and experience with power circuit breakers and MCCB.
- In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing and operation aspects of circuit breakers and distribution gear.
- Understanding the applications of the circuit breakers from the system level (switchgears, switchboards and panelboards).
- In-depth knowledge of Codes and Standards, UL 67, UL 891, UL 1558, UL508, UL 489.
- In-depth knowledge of using CAD.
- Advanced degree in engineering or engineering management with a mechanical or material focus.
- Positive attitude for learning, being patience, showing perseverance.
- Cross Functional Experience and networking skills with related functions and / or organizations.

The pay range for this position is $102,459 - $175,644. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.

The pay range for this position is $102,459 - $175,644 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
