Application Developer (C# .Net) at Penn Foster Career School in Boston, MA

We are seeking a C# .Net application developer to join our team building high quality websites and web applications to enhance our customer’s journey and enable our team members to better reach prospective students. You are responsible for utilizing web standards and best practices in your work. You will work with cross-functional teams to define requirements and transform them into new and exciting features and designs. You will collaborate to maintain and build infrastructure across solutions.

Essential Job Functions:

- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# .NET code

- Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into design

- Ability to interpret complex requests & implement based on specific timelines

- Help maintain and improve code quality, organization and automation

- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications

- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to build technical specifications and convert them to client-facing applications

- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle

- Follow software development best practices (continuous integration, refactoring, and code standards)

- Knowledge of GitHub/Git version control and code reviews

- Demonstrated technical and analytical skills, including the ability to understand and convey complex technical information in simple terms

- Willingness to work in a co-located environment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Skills:

- Solid foundational knowledge of C# .Net, and associated technologies

- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript

- Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application

- Good verbal and written communication skills

-Knowledge of relational databases and SQL a plus

Experience:

- Bachelor's degree or related work experience

- 3-5 years developing C# .Net applications

- Experience with Javascript, HTML5, and CSS

- Experience developing client-facing applications, CMS integrations

- Experience developing and working with restful APIs

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity, Octopus), automated builds, deployments and continuous integration

- Solid understanding of MVC design

- Experience with agile development workflows and JIRA

- Experience with full lifecycle of product development, validation and deployment

- Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms a plus

- Experience with Sitecore and the Heliz framework a plus
