App Modernization Application Development Manager - Detroit, MI
Job Description:
Accenture LLP has multiple openings for the position of App Modernization Application Development Manager in Detroit, MI to oversee complex project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope. S/he will perform the following duties: develop and manage plans for Application Modernization and Legacy Decommission projects, including the assessment of project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, and resourcing; architect & develop application strategy & Policy in line with the business strategy; serve as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of projects and monitor progress to assure deadlines are met and successful delivery of project objectives; review business requirement documents/functional design documents and clarify requirements with Business analyst/Business Liaison/Other functional Subject Matter Experts; lead critical and complex Legacy decommission projects; manage overall deployment plan including development plan and schedule; analyze critical legacy programs to perform extraction of business rules for ETL platform migration; perform data modelling and layout rewriting to migrate to distributed database; build and leverage reusable code and libraries using Cobol, REXX, IBM-DB2 for future use; lead code and quality management reviews with client for all release deliverables including Effort estimation sheets, Technical and Functional designs, Production and QA Deployment Trackers, post-production validation trackers; collaborate with testing team and end-users in System and User Acceptance Testing phases to ensure applications/components are fully functional; collaborate with stakeholders on application and component design to secure buy; ensure maintenance activities are in line with Service Level Agreements or other business requirements; provide technical expertise and guidance to production support staff as part of warranty support; and present periodic dashboard reports on the current program, future opportunities and client issues .
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires at least a bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering (any), or in a closely related field, plus 5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Engineering Analyst, Software Engineer, or in a closely related IT position. This position also requires the following professional experience: 5 years of experience in both Application Development & Maintenance in the areas of Application Modernization and Legacy Decommission projects; 5 years of experience in analyzing critical legacy programs written in legacy mainframe languages to perform extraction of business rules for ETL platform migration; 3 years of experience in performing data modelling and layout rewriting to migrate to distributed database; 5 years of experience with SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) in core mainframe application development modernization, production-support as well as Multidimensional Cube Reporting starting from Project Estimation, Requirement Analysis, Data Modelling, Design, Build, Test Coordination, Code Migration till post-production support of the system modules; 5 years of experience in mainframe technologies with COBOL, JCL, IBM-DB2, CICS, CICS Web Services (SOAP Framework), VSAM, Easytrieve, REXX, IMS DB/DC, and DB2 Stored Procedures; 3 years of experience in Property and Casualty-P&C claims processing using Guidewire Claim Center & Guidewire Policy center; and 3 years in designing, development and maintenance of data analytical applications (metrics, reports, analysis, KPIs & dashboard for data visualization) using Tableau.
