Accounts Payable Analyst – Reporting

We are currently in the process of transitioning the Accounts Payable function from an outsourced 3rd party service provider to an in-house function within the Accounting organization. The Accounts Payable (“AP”) process includes the invoice and payment processes within the Company’s Purchase-to-Pay (“P2P”) process. The AP Reporting Analyst will bring advanced data extraction expertise from various systems & tables and provide an accurate & consolidated view of data for analysis & team/management decision making purposes. Provide support to team, management and business partners by collecting and analyzing data, creating reports and sharing results. This role will be the reporting and data analysis central point of contact for the AP team. The objective of this role over the next 12 months is to utilize software to develop an AP dashboard that provides high-priority actionable information, enables drilling down data mining, provides availability for AP team & business partners, automates reporting, enables team/asset metrics comparison and drives for better performance and compliance.




  • Run various AP related reports in SAP or Open Invoice with accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring report requests are completed timely
  • Create custom reports and table joins from SAP
  • Communicate trending, areas of concern, ideas for improvement to management
  • Understand the business processes behind the data for a better understanding of data and reporting results
  • Support business requests or ad-hoc analysis as needed
  • Collaborate with team and peers to increase the value and accuracy of the AP dashboard
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the AP team and business partners
  • Assist with the development of KPIs
  • Standardize and automate monthly reports and compile into a business dashboard (i.e. Spotfire), including creating visualizations and presentations of data
  • Coordinate, participate, and/or manage multiple projects assigned by management
  • Work with developers, end users and third parties on requirements, technical design, testing, implementation and troubleshooting
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for AP reporting




  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required
  • Minimum 5 years’ business experience required
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience required performing duties similar to those listed in the Responsibilities section above
  • Minimum 2 years’ AP or P2P exposure preferred
  • Oil & Gas background preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivots and VLookups
  • Experience with a business dashboard reporting tool required (Spotfire preferred)
  • Experience working with developers, end users and third parties on requirements, technical design, testing, implementation and troubleshooting
  • Proven ability to research and interpret information and to act proactively to develop knowledge of the business and its activities
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively present information, written and verbal, to provide meaningful feedback and collaboration from top management, peers and partners
  • Effectively work in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills
