Job Details: We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Annual Giving Manager to join our philanthropy team.   • Position Summary

Plans, organizes and directs all divisions and committees of the Annual Giving Program to raise funds to support the highest priorities of Maine Medical Center. Responsible for increasing dollars and participation annually. The Annual Giving Manager works with the Director of Philanthropy, Vice President of Philanthropy and MMC President to recruit annual leadership and determine funding allocations. Responsibilities include identification, cultivation, stewardship and solicitation of donors. Operational responsibilities include direct mail, volunteer recruitment and training, acknowledgement and recognition of contributions and development of print materials. Responsibilities also include coordination of other fundraising related tasks as assigned by the Director of Philanthropy. This position supervises an administrative assistant and department volunteers.

  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Excellent communication, writing, research, and public speaking skills required.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills required to negotiate and work effectively with a variety of potential donors on complex and sensitive issues.
  • Ability to assess donor capacity and intent and strategize donor stewardship and cultivation activities which will lead to donations.
  • Bachelor Degree and continuous professional development in philanthropy and related fields.
  • Previous philanthropy experience in a nonprofit environment at a level normally acquired with three to five years’ experience or experience in a closely related field including active donor and volunteer relations.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as required for donor and volunteer visits and meetings and special events.
