Our internal technology, “The Telltale Tool”, has withstood the test of time and has become invaluable for rapidly creating interactive stories that are beloved by our players. But we are hungry to take it to the next level, and need strong technical leaders to help build and grow the next generation of our toolchains & technology across all major gaming platforms.


  • Build tools and runtime code to express game character performance, with a focus on procedural animation, motion capture, emotional facial animation, automation, and situationally aware animation selection
  • Work on gameplay systems such as locomotion blending, character/environment interaction, animation blending, camera control, performance authoring tools, and more
  • Collaborate with animators, cinematographers, and others on pushing forward the state of the art for animation at Telltale Games


Essential Skills:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Strong fluency in C#/C++/STL
  • 3+ years professional C#/C++ experience is required
  • 3+ years of professional experience building tools or systems for games or animation
  • Self-directing and independent, able to work effectively within an existing engine structure and iterate upon it
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with content producers to identify and fix problems as they occur
  • Detail oriented “finisher” with proven ability to create tested, reliable systems for rapid deployment
  • Experience maintaining and debugging a large code base developed by multiple programmers over many years
  • Unity experience a plus
  • Theatre, film, or acting experience a plus
  • Highly effective communicator and collaborator both with other engineers and with artists
