We are currently seeking a Senior Operations Analyst – Fuel! The Senior Operations Analyst—Fuel will provide in-depth analytical support for Global Fuels and coordinate operations across regional operations Teams: The Americas, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), and Asia Pacific. The Senior Operations Analyst's analytics will inform the strategic sourcing activities for approximately $1.5 Billion in spend, covering over 100 Suppliers, 180 Ports and contribute to the overall results of Global Fuels, including Total Cost of Ownership (price, freight, duties, cost of quality, etc.), and Annual Cost Savings of 3% - 5%.

The core work of the Senior Operations Analyst—Fuel involves the formation and execution of in-depth analysis that informs all of our strategic sourcing and operational activities. This would include, but not limited to: benchmarking, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, supplier analysis, market analysis, make vs buy analysis, and Financial option analysis (e.g. evaluating offers and tenders) and making recommendation on the best financial course of action.

Essential Functions:

  • Deeply understanding the operational aspects of Global Fuels and how Sourcing & Operations intersect and interact to create value.
  • Understanding how their analysis informs and enables Strategic Sourcing to utilize, leverage, and apply all sourcing levers, including volume leverage, product mix, alternative sourcing, contract allocation, and supplier contract negotiation to deliver and exceed cost saving targets.
  • Analytical capability and understanding of Total Cost of Ownership is critical for this role.
  • Develop understanding of core sourcing skills including supplier selection and segmentation to drive competitive advantage for the Fuel category. Be the experts on cost drivers, cost differences, benchmarks, for the Fuels, Regions, Ports, and Suppliers they support. Appropriate application of the market analysis tools—industry analysis (Porter model), supplier analysis. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the cost drivers in their markets utilizing tools that include, but not limited to: financial reporting, benchmarking, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, supplier analysis, market analysis, make vs buy analysis, and Financial option analysis (e.g. evaluating offers and tenders), Forecasting, Trend Analysis and making recommendation on the best financial course of action.
  • Deeply understanding the organization capability, processes, and systems necessary to execute the mission of Global Fuels. This will include, but not limited to: How we most efficiently and effectively train and onboard new personnel. Maximizing learning and minimizing time to effectiveness in role.
  • How we retain and institutionalize knowledge within the organization.
  • Identifying the critical and peripheral systems and processes required to effectively and efficiently execute the mission of Global Fuels. And, Continuously Improving these critical and peripheral systems.
  • Initially own the Fuel Management System. Take a key leadership role in transitioning our Procure to Pay system from manual process to new fuel system. Administrative tasks, including but not limited to, Claims, request management, etc.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Lean Sigma Methodology, Organization Development, Systems Management a plus.
  • Desired, but not required: Certifications in Purchasing (e.g. CIPS), Organization Design or Development, Operations Management.
  • 5+ years of Professional experience required.
  • Desired, but not required: Certifications in Purchasing (e.g. CIPS), Organization Design or Development, Operations Management.
  • Should Cost / Total Cost of Ownership / Industry or Supplier Research related (e.g. Bloomberg Intelligence, etc).
  • Learning & Change Agility.
