  • Job Description

    This role is responsible for the development and governance of the overall Credit & Collections international customer portfolio in concert with Constellation Global Credit Policies.   This individual would work closely with all international sales, finance leaders, and credit & collection team members to standardize process and procedures with respect to credit management and cash receipt application.  Activities include day to day coordination of related customer accounts and assessment of risk across the Constellation portfolio.   Evaluation third party credit reporting and insurance providers to ensure that credit risk is minimized.   All international personnel will have a dotted or direct reporting line to this role.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop international management teams as a point of contact regarding all international credit decisions
    • Ensure compliance of all credit risk management policies for international accounts, including monitoring application of standard credit levels and terms for optimal cash flow
    • Oversee credit underwriting end-to-end process on international accounts, providing review and approval of credit applications in accordance with corporate policy and coordinating all reviews to understand global exposure
    • With the assistance of the Treasury department, lead the development of credit insurance requirements, the application of credit insurance, and creation of policy
    • Utilize JDE credit insurance functionality and develop reporting to help management understand when trade credit insurance warrants support of open customer terms
    • Build relationships with international credit reporting and credit insurance providers
    • Work with International credit teams to resolve customer issues related to credit limits and/or past due amounts     
    • Engage collection agencies when necessary and evaluate the effectiveness of their operations with respect to global markets
    • Provide additional period end analysis as required in collaboration with the Domestic Credit Manager across entities
    • Standardize and support cash application procedures
    • Manage dispute and claims management end-to-end process including coordination of discrepancy review and approval to apply or release customer hold status as required
    • Oversee customer master, providing review and approvals
    • Ensure compliance with OFAC regulations by working closely with treasury, legal, sales departments and customer service
    • Educate international team members of the impact of anti –trust regulations (Robinson Patman, Sherman Act, etc.)
    • Engage in risk mitigation techniques for extension of credit (Examples are Letter of Credit, Securitization, and Payment Guarantees)
    • Understand necessary legal forms and filings and bankruptcy laws in critical international markets

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent required
    • 5+ years of experience in relevant industry experience with progressive management experience preferred; prior experience in credit management strongly preferred
    • Proficiency with personal computers and associated word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software; experience with JD Edwards preferred
    • Certified Credit Executive (CCE) or International Certified Credit Executive (ICCE) preferred
    • Excellent communication skills required (both verbal and written
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
