The University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry is seeking a Programmer / Analyst position. This position requires the skill-set for planning, designing, interpreting requirements, efficient programming, testing, training, collaborating with a team and support staff, as well as assisting with generating innovative technical solutions to the assigned initiatives and managing their successful deployment and implementation. Overall, this position is responsible for providing support to end-users for REDCap, the School of Medicine and Dentistry’s research data management platform.
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for aspects of the REDCap service including developing in-depth understanding of the available features and modules; identifying the optimal application settings given the investigator’s requirements for their study; and training/educating personnel in the use and functions of the application. You will work closely with research faculty and staff, study team designers, programmers, and external vendors and collaborators.
Provide front-end support for REDCap users. Develop SOPs around REDCap use in collaboration with Senior REDCap Analyst. Modifies existing program relative to requirements or configurations and recommends necessary action.
Provide consultation to clients in programming, database use and reporting to assess data preparation and management needs, program design and testing. Offers solutions and suggestions to provide optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Develop documentation and provide technical training and workshops to investigators. Keeps abreast of trends by self-study, attending job related seminars, courses or conferences which enhance personal development and strengthen the user service function.
Develops programs and applications that will support the School of Medicine and Dentistry operations. Collaborates with other programmers to accomplish successful outcomes and move forward with design and implementation activities.
Performs other related duties, including presentation of seminars, courses and instruction on services as required.
