Role and Responsibilities

  • The candidate would have a very good opportunity to contribute in a fast-paced semiconductor company in the midst of multiple product introductions.
  • The individual is expected to have excellent communication skills including writing technical reports.
  • Candidates would also need to collaborate with multiple groups within and outside the department to deliver timely results.
  • Samsung is looking for a hands-on technical person who can get in the trenches if the situation requires and not just a functional manager.
  • The candidate should be able to conduct physical and electrical failure analysis from low yield lots, baseline material, qualifications, and customer requests.
  • Identify the cause of failure by performing the adequate sample selection, identifying the optimal analysis techniques and resources to ensure fast and accurate results for both internal and external customers.
  • The candidate will support the Manufacturing and Engineering teams with physical failure analysis results for new process introduction, product transfer activities with Integration and Process Engineering teams.
  • The candidate will also represent the Analysis Engineering department in Foundry Customer meetings providing on time Analysis Results.
  • Successful candidate would have the ability to work in a culturally and generationally diverse organization.
  • Furthermore, the ability to technically direct and mentor engineers.
  • Team Representative on the Physical Failure Analysis team [pFA]
  • Guide team to perform failure sample selection at wafer level.
  • Recommend analysis approach based on Customer's failure mode data as well as our own electrical isolation results.
  • Determine the pFA analysis results and metrics required to support various foundry customers.
  • Analyze Electrical as well as Imaging results finding root cause to problems and publishing them to team members and customers on time.
  • Develop methods to improve the team's analysis capability or reduce job turnaround time.
  • Maintain standard operating procedure documents.
  • Shift: 1st - Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm.

Skills and Qualifications

  • BS Engineering degree with at least 7+ years of semiconductor with physical and electrical failure analysis experience.
  • Experience with wafer level de-processing and imaging techniques. Plasma FIB a plus
  • Experience with Layout software as well as data analysis software Spotfire or JMP.
  • Familiar with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Have an understanding of Electrical Data @ Transistor Level
  • Up to date with semiconductor industry new analysis techniques and equipment
  • Familiar with package level failure analysis
  • Understanding of wafer Level Electrical Die Sort Testing.
