As a Vice President of Regional Operations at DBIS, you will lead the assigned highway maintenance projects in Florida and ensure that each project is performing well and completed within the appropriate timelines, budget and client requirements.


II.  Essential Job Functions

  • Provide direct management to three (3) Regional Managers (North / Central / South) in Florida
  • Work with Regional and Project Managers to solve complex problems
  • Keep EVP and other Senior Managers informed of critical issues and provide solutions
  • Provide an operational interface with key decision makers in FDOT in Tallahassee
  • Responsible for the management and operations of the assigned highway maintenance contracts with various Departments ofTransportation / other clients
  • Drive a relentless focus on personal ownership of the safety performance across all Florida regions
  • Ensure customer satisfaction is a key outcome across all Florida regions
  • Develop and periodically revise a multi-year work plan for the maintenance and operations of the highways within the projects limits to specifications under the contract
  • Monitor all of the assigned Regional overheads to ensure proper utilization of resources and proper expense management
  • Monitor contracts to ensure proper expense management and maximization of operating profits are being accomplished
  • Work with Regional & Project Managers and DBIS Management in providing direction for the development of the assigned projects overhead budget
  • Train and coach subordinate managers in all facets of management
  • Ensure all staff are abiding by all federal, state and local laws within the scope of their contracts
  • Drive innovations within projects assigned within the region
  • Work with Regional Managers / Business Development teams to ensure project renewals are captured.


III.  Secondary Job Functions

  • Support the research and identification of new market opportunities
  • Support the Business Development team in bidding on new work in new markets
  • Establish and maintain positive customer relationships
  • Stay current in relative activities in your region
  • Promote DBIS within industry bodies / associations
  • Perform special projects as assigned by EVP
  • Other duties as assigned


IV:  Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering preferred
  • P.E. License strongly preferred
  • Additional industry-related training/certification is desirable


  • 10-15years’ experience in a public roads environment
  • Management experiencerequired
  • Highway maintenance experience is preferred
  • Experience with budgets and overheads is required


Physical Requirements

  • Periodic lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Use of hands for computer work
  • Periodic standing, walking, reaching, and bending
  • Regular travel is required
