Maximus is seeking a AIX Administrator to provide expertise to a federal client in support of their mission critical systems in defense of our Homeland.
We are seeking an experienced AIX Administrator to join our team. As an AIX Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the AIX-based infrastructure. Your role will involve overseeing system administration, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and ensuring the stability and security of our AIX environment.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Administer and maintain AIX-based server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
• Understanding AIX LVM/ HACMP and perform backups, restores, server upgrades, patching and maintenance.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams when necessary, and maintain security measures to protect servers and infrastructure.
• Experience in configuration management tools like Puppet, Ansible for infrastructure automation.
• Manage project teams with relevancy and background in IBM AIX environments.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and ensure adherence to security policies.
Basic Skills & Qualifications:
• Due to federal requirements, only US Citizens can be considered. Candidates with dual citizenship cannot be considered.
• Candidates with an existing Secret clearance are highly desirable. However, applicants without a current Secret clearance, who have the ability to obtain and maintain one, will also be considered for this position.
• Must be based around the Annapolis Junction, MD area. This position requires onsite work; however, a limited amount of telework can be available, subject to approval.
• This individual will be responsible for the daily operation of mission critical systems on a 24x7x365 workday basis. Shift work will be required.
• Certified as an IBM AIX Certified System Administrator.
• 7 or more years of experience in an AIX Admin role or in a related field.
• 7 or more years of experience in the following: AIX 7.1 / IBM Intel-based servers / IBM Power 8; Power System E880C / IBM TSM / IBM Tivoli Monitoring
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience in the migration of AIX to RHEL preferred
