SDC is looking for an engineer with significant experience and contacts in aircraft structures to fill a position leading the Aircraft Structures Business Area. Composite materials are making significant in-roads into both commercial and military aircraft, helicopters, and UAVs and are viewed as a growth market. Because SDC is winning multiple aircraft structures type programs, we now have a need for an individual to lead this area. A successful candidate will be goal oriented, willing to take risk and will take responsibility for the outcome of his or her decisions.
The Aircraft Structures Business Area Manager will manage programs that the individual brings to the company. This role will also entail oversight over program details such as technical, manufacturing, schedule, budget, customer interface, meetings and presentations, and other program management responsibilities.
The primary role of this position is to expand the firm's business with new and existing clients and penetrate existing markets through assessment of marketing opportunities and target markets; gather intelligence on customers and competitors; generate leads for possible sales; follow-up sales activity; formal proposal and presentation management and writing; pitch and presentation rehearsals; account planning and performance monitoring; proposition and campaign development; and create and build relationships while sponsoring interaction to obtain projects.
SDC has found that the successful candidate will have a strong technical background in aircraft structures design and or analysis in addition to good communication skills and ability to manage programs.
