Air Quality Specialist/Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking an Air Quality Specialist/Engineer to join our growing Environmental team in Atlanta, GA. Other potential locations include Jacksonville, FL; Columbia, SC; Huntsville, AL; Mobile, AL; New Orleans, LA; and Houston, TX. Hybrid and remote work possibilities are available. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of related experience conducting air quality studies, modeling, reporting, and permitting. Specific experience with sterilization and ethylene oxide is preferred. In this role, you will be surveying, inspecting, assessing, and implementing measures for mitigation and remediation of potential air quality hazards at industrial, energy, and governmental facilities in order to assist clients with risk assessment and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidates possess a broad understanding of Air Quality Engineering processes, tools and practices with relevant experience performing such measures at client sites. The successful candidate would engage with integrated teams to support a range of multidisciplinary projects. The successful candidate would also interface with clients and support proposal development.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Performing air quality studies to assist clients in identifying and correcting potential air quality concerns associated with indoor processes and external emissions
• Focus on air quality management including air regulatory compliance services such as MACT, NSPS, NESHAP, and air permitting NNSR/NSR, PSD, and PBRs.
• Air monitoring and air quality modeling
• Performing inspection and audits at client facilities to identify potential OSHA compliance issues and developing reports to assist clients with appropriate remediation action
• Partnering with Corporate Safety to provide support for client environmental and air quality training programs and activities
• Preparation of proposals and statements of qualification
• Specific experience with sterilization and ethylene oxide is preferred

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Environmental or Other Relevant Discipline), Occupational Safety, Environmental Science or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in Air Quality and/or Environmental/Site Safety Inspections, Audits, and Investigations
• Environmental Air Experience with EPA Permitting is a plus
• Relevant Licensure/Certifications for conducting inspections and performing remediation efforts
• Experience writing, reviewing and assessing EHS reports and making corrective action recommendations
• Experience and thorough knowledge in corrective action process including apparent and root cause analyses
• OSHA 30 or 40 Hour trained
• Ability to wear a respirator and protective clothing, climb a ladder, and lift/carry up to 40 pounds, occasionally
• Previous experience in an EHS consulting organization and selling of EHS services preferred
• Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work.

Additional Information

We anticipate filling this position as a Project Manager with a salary range of $95,300.00 - $151,100.00 per year.

Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors.
