Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent for the Gulf Coast Ammonia facility in Texas City, TX.
The Maintenance Superintendent Gulf Coast Ammonia has the Maintenance responsibility for the Air Products & Gulf Coast Ammonia Production Facility and associated assets in Texas City.
The facility is a greenfield build for what will be the world’s largest single train ammonia plant.
The facility assets include Air Products largest Steam Methane Reformer, an Air Separation Unit, an Ammonia Plant and Ammonia Pipelines, Steam Turbine Power Generation and large Utility System. The facility has connections to the Air Products Gulf Coast Pipeline system for Hydrogen and external parties for Natural Gas, Water and Electrical Power. The Ammonia Plant is owned by a 3rd party, Gulf Coast Ammonia, but is operated by Air Products as part of the integrated operation of the overall facility.
With a group of 10 employees and contract resources, this position reports to the Facility Manager and works closely with the Air Products Regional Technical Resources and the Gulf Coast Ammonia Owners Operations Representative to ensure the on-going alignment of facility maintenance and business goals for both Air Products & Gulf Coast Ammonia.
You have the primary responsibility for all the maintenance, maintenance systems and materials management of the facility, including the safety of maintenance team and contractors to ensuring the safety of the site and community in which we operate. You are responsible for the compliance with all the maintenance and materials management activity’s defined under the Air Products – GCA O&M Agreement. During periods of crisis or emergency, you are required to react immediately to plan, organize, and execute the proper corrective actions.
You are responsible for the set-up and establishment of the facility maintenance systems, tools, work processes and contractor support structure using Air Products Management Systems as the foundation. You will identify any new or changes to existing systems, tools, skills and processes based upon the size of the site and, new to AP, ammonia systems and the asset ownership split of the integrated facility.
You are responsible for maximizing the asset reliability in the execution of maintenance while minimization maintenance costs to meet customer requirements safely, efficiently, and reliably.
