AIML - Sr Software Engineer, Siri and Information Intelligence

The Siri Natural Language Understanding team is building the state-of-the-art AI and NLP technologies to allow Siri to understand users’ intents in all Siri languages across Apple products. Key Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional work experience in software engineering, with strong expertise in machine learning and software internationalization (i18n)
• Proficient with one or more scripting languages such as Python, Bash. Working capability with one or more programming languages, such as C++, Objective C, Java, etc.
• Excellent data analytical skills. Strong attention to detail. Proven track record to dive into data to discover hidden patterns and conduct error/deviation analysis
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for continuing to learn state-of-the-art techniques in machine learning/data science, and adoption in different languages

Description

This open position is with the Siri NL Assets & Internationalization team within the broader Siri Natural Language Understanding organization. The goal of this position is to develop Siri’s capabilities in all supported languages and manage the engineering cycle of Siri machine learning model assets, for on-device and on-server.

As Siri NL engineer, you will be responsible for developing Siri NL assets, evaluating and optimizing Siri accuracy for on-device and on-server, and delivering new enhancements to Siri’s production system in all Apple platforms. You will be working in a highly cross-functional environment and will need to collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as the modeling team, the data science team, and the localization team, to deliver the next generation of natural language understanding capability of Siri. Excellent interpersonal skills will be required to coordinate work across multiple teams to ship new Siri features and resolve issues. Build relationships with engineering leads and product partners across the Siri product ecosystem to drive a privacy-first strategy. Employ a diverse toolkit of rigorous analytical approaches, methodologies, frameworks, and technical strategies to uncover opportunities to improve Siri.

Education & Experience

B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields

• At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $256,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
