General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The Pricing Manager role is responsible for leading pricing strategy and planning, sales measurement and analytics, as well as market intelligence for the Agribusiness Division. This key leadership role will act as a change agent to transform commodity-based pricing efforts into a value-added pricing approach, building cross functional partnerships with sales and marketing managers to drive pricing strategy and play a key role in developing multi-dimensional pricing and product segment strategies, and monitor overall pricing performance and compliance. The Pricing Manger will use business acumen, analytical skills, & market information to create and lead a comprehensive pricing and program strategy to ensure that the Agribusiness Division meets or exceeds their financial targets. These pricing strategies will be set at the micro and macro level and will align with overall company strategy.

Key Skills and Abilities include:

  • Minimum 7 years of hands on experience in agribusiness
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but not required
  • Prior Marketing or Pricing experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with SaaS based pricing tools a plus
  • Experience using PROS, Vendavo, Zilliant, or any similar programs a plus
  • Experience with MicroStrategy, Tableau, SAP, Oracle, etc. Data Mining preferred
  • Proven influence leadership and change management experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Experience and comfort working directly with Sales Leaders and collaborating with sales and marketing teams
  • Strategic thinker and strong analytical skills. Must have the ability to draw insights and action from data and information
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer economics to drive business growth.
  • Ability to manage complex pricing and account-related issues effectively across the enterprise

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Define new business procedures, evaluate resource requirements, and manage the implementation and maintenance of a web-based, SaaS pricing system
  • Lead and direct pricing strategy formulation and take necessary pricing actions to enhance profitability, ensuring integrity and accuracy in all pricing matters
  • Maintain and regularly update a pricing history database
  • Analyze financial impact of price approach and strategy in view of overall history as well as profitability of customer
  • Collaborates with other Sales, Marketing, and Credit managers to create synergies between teams, share a cohesive vision, and foster an environment of communication and collaboration
  • Create and lead a comprehensive pricing and program strategy to ensure achievement of business objectives and financial results
  • Drive effective pricing communications for internal utilization
  • Direct business insights around the competitive environment and identify overarching trends that help the organization understand how to go to market
  • Identify trends using relevant market and competitive information to identify, recommend, implement, and manage optimal price level strategy in accordance with market share and profitability objectives
  • Set department goals and objectives that are aligned with Agribusiness Division's strategic plan
  • Recruit and hire new employees as required
  • Foster a customer-focused working environment whereby team members can achieve their best performance and deliver superior results
  • Provide coaching and feedback to employees as required throughout the year
  • Address poor performance with progressive discipline and use of performance improvement plans
  • Promote positive work environment and overall employee morale
