Who We Are:

World Wide Technology Application Services is looking for an Agile Coach to join our growing coaching practice. With an emphasis on transparent feedback, collaboration, and meaningful experimentation, our Agile Coaches serve our organization in continuously improving how we deliver software and delight customers.

Who You Are:

You are a delivery-driven, customer-focused pragmatist that loves Agile because you know it works. You avoid being dogmatic or prescriptive in your approach to coaching -- you don't need to be because you are just as good at building relationships as you are at understanding the whole system. You value a collaborative, self-organizing team yet you also know that self-organization requires boundaries and leadership. You have a deep understanding of work visualization, systems thinking, metrics, forecasting and using data to manage customer expectations. You give and receive feedback readily, and you always bring team decision-making back to what's going to satisfy the customer, because that is Agile Principle Number One. You are comfortable with some ambiguity, but you know when to drive to precision. You're a fun-loving team-player and continuous learner who exercises trust, humility, innovation, passion, a positive attitude, honesty and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve our organization's goals by evangelizing our principles and values, and helping teams to align their practices to effective delivery
  • Catalyze our organization's standards for team and project health by providing specific coach services to teams and creating experiment-driven coach engagement plans that align team and coach to improvements
  • Coach individuals and teams in areas of professional development such as conflict dynamics, consulting skills, and emotional intelligence
  • Ensure the successful start-up of projects by collaborating with sales, customers, and teams to plan and deliver effective project kickoffs
  • Lead large group activities including workshops, feedback sessions, retrospectives, ideations, story mapping, and other interactive sessions

Qualifications

What You've Done:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three+ years working in a leadership capacity with Agile teams
  • Five+ years working in software development
  • Successfully coached teams producing various types of software, from user-experience driven products to middleware or backend solutions
  • Successfully leveraged various types of practices, tools and frameworks without becoming reliant upon any single approach
