OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
The Agency Operations Counsel is responsible for keeping the company apprised of ongoing national regulatory matters and compliance and its impact to title agents and title insurance companies. This position is also responsible for drafting agency agreements, amendments and termination notices. Agency Operations Counsel is responsible for coordination and oversight of outside vendor relationships to synchronize data and reports.
Regulatory & Compliance

  • Research regulatory standards and compliance
  • Ensure company and agent compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and laws
  • Process licensing applications and filings
  • Assist with state required filings
  • Analyze regulatory impact and provide creative solutions when necessary
  • Communicate policy changes to agents and employees
  • Maintain information database or repository of state and national requirements of title insurance and settlement regulations
  • Represent company in dealings with government agencies such as Departments of Insurance
  • Interact with actuaries to produce state level rate justifications

Contracts & Licensing

  • Knowledge of business structures
  • Draft contracts, amendments, cancellations
  • Coordinate and execute between managers and agent


Management and Oversight

  • Annual reporting to state regulatory departments
  • Participate in industry organizations
  • Coordinate reporting with third party vendors
  • Informational updates to business
  • Special project tasks
  • Provide underwritingsupport or coordination on a limited basis
  • Organize research or projects amongst underwriting and legal team


Requirements

  • JD from an ABA accredited school
  • Minimum 3 years in title insurance or a related industry
  • Strong time management
  • Highly organized with a results oriented focus
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Employ creative solutions
  • Ability to cooperate and collaborate with team
  • Competency in Office applications- Outlook, Word, Excel
