POSITION SUMMARY:

The Site Director is responsible for the administration and operation of one after school program/ one day camp.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensuring the delivery of high quality, safe, educational YMCA youth programming in a nurturing environment. Deliver programs and activities that align with the HEPA (healthy eating and physical activity) standards
  • Developing and maintaining yearly budgets and establishing and sustaining positive relationships with program participants, their families and prospective members.
  • Hires, trains, and provides continuous support and feedback to program staff.
  • Attend meetings, online webinars, and trainings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Two years of experienceworking with youth and/or teens.
  2. Certified in CPR and First Aid (or be certified within 30 days of hire).
  3. Complete YMCA child abuse prevention within 30 days of hire.
  4. Provide proof of negative tuberculosis test.
  5. Bilingual preferred.
  6. Day Camp Director: Must be 18 years of age.
  7. After School Director: 48 semester college units required or successful completion of NCLB test.
  1. After School Licensed Director:
    1. Degree or Permit
    1. AA in Child Development, 3 semester (4.5 quarter) units in Administration or staff relations and 1year teaching experience OR
    2. BA in Child Development, 3 semester (4.5 quarter) units in Administration or staff relations and 1 year teaching OR
    3. Child Development Site Supervisor Permit, Child Development Program Director Permit issued by the California Commission on Teaching Credentialing OR
    4. AA or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited or approved college provided, 3 semester (4.5 quarter) units in Administration or staff relations and 3 semester (4.5 quarter) units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or School Age Courses (classes include, but not limited to child growth and development, or human growth and development; child, family and community, or child and family; and program/curriculum), and 1 year of work experience
    5. Or
    6. No degree or Permits
    7. 3 semester (4.5 quarter) units in Admin, 3 units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or School Age Courses, and 9 semester (13.5 quarter) units from the following: recreation, physical education, human services, units earned toward an elementary or middle school teaching credential, or Early Childhood Education, Child Development or School Age Courses (classes include, but not limited to child growth and development, or human growth and development; child, family and community, or child and family; and program/curriculum) and 4 years of work experience. All classes must be completed with a passing grade.
