Job Overview

Reporting to the manager, organization effectiveness (OE), you will perform as part of a dynamic team providing direct delivery of OE services by coaching leaders and human resource (HR) strategic partners through organization design, team effectiveness and people readiness.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for design and development of mandates, operating and service models, and execution of effective and efficient organization structures that enable business strategy
  • Assess team strengths and opportunities using time tested techniques and then recommend the right solutions for improved team performance
  • Lead change management by clarifying the case for change, understanding the key players and how they are impacted and then developing and executing plans to get people ready to adopt the change so that intended business benefits can be fully realized
  • Assess organization, team and individual challenges in the workplace to improve employee engagement and business performance
  • Partner with HR, Communications, and Learning professionals to deliver practical, actionable solutions in OE service areas
  • Support capability development of HR strategic partners through effective coaching during the design and implementation of OE projects
  • Source, onboard, and provide quality assurance for work delivered by external providers of OE services
  • Understand Suncor’s journey toward operational excellence and support the organization in advancing this journey

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Eight or more years of progressive experience in HR or consulting, including at least five years in an OE role
  • Strong business acumen with experience in an industrial business environment preferred
  • Bachelordegree in an OE related field, human resources or business
  • A Master's degree in business or related organization effectiveness field is considered an asset

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong consulting skills including a demonstrated ability to collaborate with leaders and their teams in the design of OE solutions based on sound assessment, solid OE theory and practice, and alignment with business priorities
  • Self-directed, able to identify, design and action multiple individual, departmental and organizational improvements and projects while working in a collaborative manner
  • Strong interpersonal and group facilitation skills along with the ability to provide effective leadership and positively influence, partner with and coach others
  • Strong communication skills including verbal, written, presentation, and one-on-one communication skills working within all levels of an organization.
