Description: WellStar’s Behavioral Health Service Line (BHSL) and Psychological Services practice is pleased to announce an opening for an Adult Neuropsychologist in Marietta, Georgia. This is a full-time position, reporting to WellStar’s Director of Psychology. The provider will work closely with WellStar neurologists, psychiatrists, and primary care physicians to bolster access to important diagnostic services for adults with a myriad of neurological conditions or who have incurred neurological changes secondary to acquired or traumatic brain injury, etc.

 

Skills Needed: Required skills include the ability to apply evidence-based practice and knowledge in clinical neuropsychology to a diverse adult population. Applicants should have a robust understanding of brain-behavioral relationships, possess a repertoire of neuropsychological testing techniques, and have the ability to integrate their knowledge and skills to meet the needs of patients and providers in a large and integrated health system. The ability to succinctly and synthesize complex data is imperative to ensure that the needs of WellStar patients are optimally served.

 

Setting: WellStar Health System is an 11-hospital system, recognized as the 5th most integrated health system in the United States, and is the largest health system in Georgia. WellStar is a member of the Mayo Clinic Network. This opening for an Adult Neuropsychologist is a new position residing in an outpatient practice setting, and serving the population in our east Cobb County, Georgia location. The Adult Neuropsychologist will have operational support through the WellStar Medical Group, and access to a full-time psychometrist to support the provider in test administration and other clinical capacities.

 

Required Minimum Education: (1) a doctorate degree (Ph.D./Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology from a program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), (2) completion of an APA-accredited internship in a hospital/medical setting, (3) completion of a 1- or 2-year post-doctoral fellowship with concentration in clinical neuropsychology; and (4) licensure or license-eligibility in the State of Georgia.  Whereas active board-certification in Clinical Neuropsychology (ABCN) is not required at the time of hire, the provider should take steps to obtain the ABCN within 24 months of the date of hire.
