Job Location: Washington, DC

Job Type: Contract 12 Months

"US citizens and those authorized to work in the US are encouraged to apply. We are unable to sponsor H1b candidates at this time."

Job Description:

  • Our client seeks an accomplished front-end developer to join our team supporting flagship properties on specific websites, which are powered by Adobe Experience Cloud and a range of custom microservices hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS.)
  • We are a distributed team, so the successful candidate will have a choice of work locations, including – for the right person – the potential to telecommute from home.
  • A day in the life of a front-end developer for our client
  • Your team is primarily virtual and distributed, so you'll spend lots of time on Slack and working asynchronously.

You'll spend your time:

  • Using JIRA to estimate effort and plan feature releases into production with our Scrum and Ops Teams
  • Creating feature branches, rebasing other devs changes, and submitting/reviewing PRs in Bitbucket
  • Writing HTML/CSS/JS/Typescript for Angular using your favorite IDE
  • Writing lots of automated tests with Angular, JUnit, and Selenium
  • Running builds and deploys to shared test environments using Jenkins
  • Working with our QA team to validate test plans and fix any bugs found during testing
  • Helping triage and fix bugs found in production

Required Skills:

  • A 4yr degree in Computer Science or related field; OR equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • 5-7 years total experience developing web applications for content management, digital commerce or high-volume transactional platform
  • At least 1 major Angular 4 or higher development project, including production support
  • At least 1 major Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) 6.3 or higher development project, including production support
  • Strong NPM front end tool chain skills
  • Strong Git and Gitflow skills
  • Comfortable using OS command line
  • Experience with Java

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Jenkins or other CI automation tools
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with core AWS services (EC2, VPC, ECS, CloudFormation)
  • Experience with MySql or other relational databases
  • Experience working within the Adobe Experience Manager framework, including end-user and authoring concepts like templates, components, page properties, blueprints, and AEM Sites
