About the Position
The Internet Leadership team works with a large group of internal and external stakeholders who are valued partners in carrying forward the mission of the Internet Society at the local, regional and international levels. The Administrative Support Specialist role requires significant interaction with stakeholders and Internet Society staff to strengthen and enhance the impact of the organization in pursuing its mission worldwide.
This is a Part Time position of up to 30 hours per week. The position reports to the Internet Society's Sr. Director, Internet Leadership.
Location: Reston, VA
? Maintains team alumni database and ensure timely input and maintenance of information according to established organizational policies
? Maintains team calendar and schedule by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel.
? Supports Logistics Coordinator as occasional back-up
? Generates report from team systems for quarterly reporting. Systems include alumni database, elearning platform, and online educational resources.
? Attends meetings either onsite or by teleconference, captures notes, and follows-up on next steps for all parties
? Completes specific projects, including proofreading and following up on results.
? Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
? Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
? Perform other duties as assigned to achieve organisational objectives.
The role requires excellent communication skills, diplomacy and discretion, the ability to multi-task, extreme attention to detail, willingness to learn new tools, and a can-do positive attitude.
? Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years related experience
? Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English. The ability to converse in otherlanguages a plus.
? Solid multi-tasking capabilities and the ability to handle and prioritize many projects concurrently.
? Strong knowledge of IT, strong computer skills and familiarity with electronic communication applications and tools absolutely essential.
? Demonstrated diplomacy and discretion
? Must have the ability to work with, and quickly gain the trust of, broad community and build enduring relationships.
? Accomplishments that reflect teamwork, integrity and accountability, and the ability to work independently (highly self-motivated) in a fast paced and at times ambiguous international environment.
? Willingness and ability to travel 1-2 times/year
