The Montefiore Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses ‘Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing’s Social Policy Statement. The Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard and performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center. The Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The Administrative Nurse Manager, Operating Room demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served.
This position is accountable for managing all clinical and administrative functions (patient care delivery, fiscal, material and human resources) of the Operating Room on a 24-hour basis. Coordinates activities including but not limited to inventory management, budgeting and performance improvement activities in order to promote efficient/effective operations and quality patient care. Responsible for cases starting on time as well as monitoring turnover time. Will secure the availability and maintenance of instruments, supplies, and equipment as well as ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the operating rooms and coordination of the multidisciplinary staff in ASU, PACU and OR by organizing patient flow, directing staff and resources appropriately. Responsible for developing and maintaining competence of assigned associates. Demonstrates leadership and clinical expertise in area(s) of responsibility. The position is responsible for creating an environment in which autonomy is nurtured, encouraged and reflected in a highly competent workforce capable of providing quality care. Professional interdisciplinary collaboration, communication and teamwork enacted enable care delivery to the customers and community to improve health and wellness. The position is responsible to uphold compliance with Montefiore Medical Center’s policies/procedures, service excellence standards and regulatory requirements.
New York State Registered Professional License and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State.
BSN Required, MSN Preferred
Minimum of five years of clinical experience in related area
C.N.O.R Certification
BLS Certification
Membership in A.O.R.N.
