The Actuarial Director identifies, evaluates and responds to financialrisks inherent in the pricing and development of health insurance products.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Serves as lead on team managing monthly close process.
Provides support with pricing actuarial needs.
Prepares and interprets data and related formulae.
Monitors trend of profit and profitability by line of business and/or product.
Participates on major, multi-function projects as Actuarial representative.
Organizes and directs the staffing and work flow of the section.
Requires a BS/BA degree; FSA required from the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and at least 6 years of related experience; or ASA from the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and at least 9 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Proficient in Excel required.
Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is desired.
Healthcare experience with trend analysis highly desired.
Ability to manipulate sets of data.
