Acoustic Engineering Program Manager (EPM)
The Apple Acoustics EPM Team is looking for an Acoustics Engineering Project Manager (EPM) to drive the design, development and integration of speaker, mic, and receiver modules into Apple products. In this highly cross functional role the EPM will coordinate efforts internally of the audio HW, validation and tuning teams as well as externally with SW, mechanical engineering, and operations teams to design, manufacture and integrate high quality acoustic modules for Apple's entire product line.
The Acoustics Module EPM defines and drives the build plan for multiple module integrators and serves as the primary interface to Apple during module development. They advocate for the best overall acoustic performance throughout the organization. They are responsible for delivering acoustic modules on schedule, facilitating risk management and communicating status and issues to the development team and Apple executives. EPMs are responsible for managing and communicating project definition, development milestones and schedules, and project status in the development of new acoustic modules. An EPM must be able to prioritize issues and track the details as well as be in touch with the big picture issues. EPMs must be fearless organizers who are ready to work with the highly skilled acoustic, hardware, software, and mechanical design teams to identify and resolve potential risks to the schedule and risks to the quality of the product. The EPM must be savvy enough to understand the roles and responsibilities of the key partners and identify stakeholders to drive key decisions efficiently. Success is defined in terms of the quality and timeliness of the pre-production builds and the start of mass production. A successful candidate is a structured and methodical organizer with the ability to drive a talented, passionate, experienced cross functional team and external suppliers. They will have experience in one or more of the following: speakers, mics or receivers.
BS degree ME/Physics/EE required, MS preferred
