About the role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, the Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the full cycle accounts payable process, manage the accounts payable team, and provide amazing customer service to our suppliers and employees. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment and will demonstrate sound judgment and strong attention to detail.  You will also:

  • Manage all aspects of the accounts payable process, including supplier creation, supplier relations, invoice handling / review, and payment authorization
  • Work closely with the Purchasing team, providing process input and monitor / help clear match exceptions that delay invoice approvals
  • Perform annual 1099 reporting and collaborate with the tax department on othertax related matters
  • Maintain effective internal controls over the accounts payable and disbursement processes in accordance with SOX requirements
  • Participate in the month-end close and assist the accounting team with month-end accruals, account reconciliations, and fluctuation analyses
  • Recruit, supervise, and mentor direct reports; evaluate performance and provide constructive feedback and training as necessary
  • Build and strengthen relationships with operational departments within Zillow Group and outside vendors
  • Develop SOPs for routine operations and facilitate cross-training amongst team members
  • Actively identify inefficiencies in current processes and work to continuously improve and optimize systems, processes, and procedures
  • Assist with requests from internal and external auditors

Who you are

  • 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
  • Sound technical knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented mindset, and a high sense of urgency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
  • A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Team oriented outlook with a positive attitude
