RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide leadership and guidance to a staff of 3 to 4 non-exempt employees in accounts payable department

• Monitor productivity through monthly management reports on volume by employee

• Develop policies and procedures, identify and implement efficiencies, monitor processes, trouble-shoot issues, communicate with internal and external customers

• Review and approval of all Disbursement Vouchers; work withTreasury on work transfers and payments

• Reconciliations related to accounts payable, including clearing accounts

• Preparation of required adjusting general ledger entries

• Maintain vendors, tax information, and flag payments for 1099 reporting

• Work with the Manager of Tax Accounting and Reporting to communicate vendor tax related matters to university departments

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent In Accounting, Management, or Business, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired

• Five years' experience leading an accounts payable unit within a medium to large organization • Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Excel and Word, ability to work with and analyze or reconcile large amounts of data, and experienceworking withreport writers of various software packages

• Ability to identify best practices and implement process improvements

• Must be a dedicated professional and team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills with people at all levels of the organization
