Job Summary

The Accounting Supervisor will provide management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations. The candidate will also be involved in driving continuous process and procedural improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accounting functions to ensure efficiency and compliance
  • selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures
  • Prepares internal and external reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments/other systems
  • Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information
  • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Understands and maintains Sarbanes Oxley Compliance
  • Project work as assigned

Experience/Requirements

  • Seven years plus of accounting experience
  • Three plus years’ experience in supervisory role
  • Public Accounting Experiencepreferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • CPA a plus

Skills/Competencies

  • Accounting/GAAP/SOX Compliance
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and complete work timely & accurately with minimal supervision
  • Ability to develop and implement "Best Practice" processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Microsoft Office Suite and other business software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe, etc.)
  • Problem solving, multi-tasking, analytical thinking and good communication a must!
