Multi-site manufacturer

Are you looking for a Controller position that offers excellent visibility and reports directly to the CFO? Here you will have a voice with the CFO. Do you have the technical and soft skills to lead and manage others? This position has a staff of 4 and one works remotely. What are your ideas for staff development?

Does your interpersonal style proactively reach out to others, across the Company, outside of accounting and finance? Do "player-coach" and "lead-by-example" describe your style? How will you monitor the work of general account, A/P and A/R staff? Do your accomplishments include improving accounting processes for efficiency and efficacy?

Do you want to be recognized and rewarded for contributing more than accurate numbers? Is your expectation that your next position, combined with an excellent performance, will open doors of opportunity for professional growth and advancement? Ask about our career paths and the timeframe.

Do you have experience with a manufacturer of discrete components or products in a multi-site, multi-national operation? Are they ISO certified facilities? Our client has operations in Europe and China. What do you think when you see IFRS?

Are you looking for a 30+ year-old manufacturer of custom engineered products that is financially sound, is recognized for good governance, had a terrific 2018 AND is investing in its people and facilities? Their long term prospects are excellent because their clients manufacture a wide range of analytical devices used for analysis of environmental, food safety, veterinary, research, water safety and forensic sciences applications to name a few.

Our client is investing in professional competencies and operational efficiencies while delivering best-in-class customer experiences. Plus management respects its employees and their work/life balance. Does this sound appealing?

Responsibilities

The Controller is expected to contribute to and be supportive in the delivery of sustainable sales and profit growth. The expectation is for more than timely and accurate financial reporting and more than the management of financial assets and liabilities. You will identify and take action to mitigate risk, while recognizing that some level of business risk is essential to deliver profit growth. You will bring risk factors to the attention of the Company's executives.

The Controller is expected to be proactive. In this culture proactive means coming out of the office and taking the initiative to reach out to all functional areas of the Company. Get to know all employees. The Controller makes people aware of available information and how to use the information to make better business decisions.

This position must be highly effective in customer-facing situations. The Controller is always one of the faces of the Company. And as such, must convey excellence, integrity and inspire confidence in both themselves and the Company.

The ideal candidate will have broad exposure and knowledge of information technology options available and implementable for small manufacturers. The Controller should be capable of recommending ways to more effectively utilize the current ERP system. In the intermediate term, you will participate in the development and implementation of a technology road map that enables the Company to more effectively utilize ALL of its resources and make better decisions, at all levels, every day.
