We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Process Analyst with strong knowledge in the SAP ERP system in our Corporate Systems group, located in Torrey Pines, CA.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzes, validates and assists with developing business and technical process requirements; recommends process changes and enhancements; developing systems requirements, techniques and controls; and supporting implementation efforts.
  • Collaborates with ITS on functional design documents.
  • Provides unit testing support for system upgrades in SAP CO and FI modules.
  • Assists in executing and reviewing the weekly and monthly corporate transactions in the Controlling module of the SAP ERP system.
  • Ensures that the SAP electronic accounting/financialprocesses are accurate and informs the appropriate departments of any data discrepancies.
  • Reviews SAP master data creation and ensures appropriate internal controls are in place governing the creation, maintenance and security of CO Master Data.
  • Assists with SAP related needs that include but not limited to roles, table maintenance, flowcharts, process and data blueprint mapping when required/appropriate.
  • Works closely with SAP business analysts in evaluating and testing new/upgraded system enhancement including regression testing.
  • Analyzes monthly accounting results and researches transactional anomalies if necessary.
  • Follows established corporate policies, procedures, and standard practices.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties or projects as assigned.



Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a related field and six or more years experience as a business process analyst working with computerized management systems to include, but not limited to, product life cycle systems. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.

  • A bachelors or mastersdegree in accounting, finance or related discipline is strongly desired.

  • Three or more years of specialized experience with ERP systems is strongly desired.

  • A background in the Aerospace and Defense industry is desired.

  • Must possess leadership skills including organizing, scheduling, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates.

  • Strong knowledge of the SAP costing module and its integration with other SAP modules is desired.

  • An understanding of administrative functions such as; general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, inventory control, fixed assets, payroll, human resources, etc. is desired

  • Experience in developing end users reports from business systems and evaluating new or upgraded relevant software and hardware is desired

  • An understanding of accounting theories, concepts and principles, as well as an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, cost accounting standards is preferable.

  • Must possess leadership skills including organizing, scheduling, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates.

  • Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems; (2) excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings; (3) excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees, including management; (4) the ability to represent the company as a knowledgeable resource on external projects ; and (5) excellent excel skills.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours.
    Local travel may be required.
