Job Summary

This position is responsible for the preparation of general ledger entries, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, assist in the preparation of Financial Statements, and coordination of the recording and tracking of costs related to Fixed Assets.

Education & Experience

Required:
o Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
o 5+ years General Ledger experience

Preferred:
o Knowledge of GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards
o Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations
o Expertise with financial analysis and reporting
o Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PeopleSoft
o CPA preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain the integrity of financial reporting, fixed assets, and monthly financial statements.
• Calculate and recommend accruals for designated areas
o Perform Balance Sheet and Income Statement analysis and reconciliation of general ledger activity.
o Work with Purchasing, Facilities, IT, and Accounts Payable to properly capitalize and depreciate fixed assets according to TriWest's policy.
o Prepare entries to the general ledger and review for reliability, propriety, and compliance with GAAP. Prepare journal entries for budget and reforecast ledger.
o Responsible for Fixed Asset Accounting to include the appropriate classification of assets by category and useful life. Assist in the planning, coordination, and reconciliation of an annual companywide fixed asset physical inventory.
o Develop report writing and data queries for fixed asset presentation and analysis.
o Develop and maintain all manual procedures and documentation in this functional area.
o Participate in testing and implementation of all data processing system enhancements or implementations that impact financial accounting functions, fixed asset depreciation, or general ledger reporting. Includes setup of fixed assets tax books and bonus depreciation changes when required.

Assists in the coordination and preparation of various TriWest budgets of a highly complex and confidential nature.
O Assists in the modeling and development of administrative accounts for the annual budget.
O Assists in the presentation of results of financial analysis to business leaders to include senior management, assists in coordination and execution of the month forecasting process.
o Provide overall project assistance and support to the Accounting Manager and Director, Accounting.
o Print and distribute applicable financial reports monthly to management.
o Performs other duties as assigned.
