Summary

We're looking for a motivated accounting professional, that can focus on maintaining strong financial controls, providing accurate financial reporting, ensuring proper accounting via robust processes, and utilizing automated/complex tools.

This senior accountant position will be part of the that supports, a line of business in the Wholesale Division. The accountant will perform activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and developing financial reports. Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company.

Responsibilities
•Application of accounting policies and procedures that impact reconciliations and entries
•Preparing journal entries during the month-end close process (accruals, adjusting entries, reclassifications, etc.)
•Reviewing transactions and balances from the general ledger, unit reports and various financial loan systems to ensure accuracy
•Reconciling key GL Accounts
•Record entries related to the insurance premium company known as FlatIron
•Analysis of credit A/R balance and reclass to proper liability account
•Process improvement projects and accounting research
•Support other managers with adhoc projects
•Accounting is 35% and project/research work is 65%.

Required Qualifications 

•2+ years of accounting experience

•BS/BA degree or higher in accounting
•CPA-Certified Public Accountant designation
•Strong accounting skills
•Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
•Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
•Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
•Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
•BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
•Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) skills
•A Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Designation
•Knowledge and understanding of US GAAP financial statements or components preparation
•Customer service experience
•Ability to exercise independent judgment to identify and resolve problems
•Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
•Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
•Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
•Reporting experience
