Job Summary
Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of Amentum, is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Accountant for immediate employment in the Carlsbad, NM office or mutually agreed upon offsite location. Great opportunity for an emerging mid to senior Accountant who is ambitious and looking for a unique growth opportunity!
The successful candidate will work and monitor inventory transactions, reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger, prepare monthly journal entries as needed, provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed in reconciling the warehouse inventory accounts and special inventory projects as required. They will coordinate annual audits for both the savings and pension plans by reviewing and signing the engagement letter to conduct the audit. Will assist in obtaining the census data and valuation reports from the pension third party benefit provider. Prepare the trial balance using the bank statements included in the Audit Package that is obtained from Savings and Pension third party benefit provider. Review contribution schedule to determine if any of the employee contributions were deposited late to the trustee accounts. Ensure the audits are completed for a September filing deadline. Prepare financial statements for the pension and savings plans. Prepare, review and file the IRS Form 5500. Prepare IRS Form 8955-SSA report. Submit all iBenefit requests prepared by the third party benefit provider by required DOE due dates. Submit payment and wire the funds for the quarterly minimum contribution for the Pension plan. Coordinate all insurance payments for general liability, auto and workman’s compensation. Ensure all benefit payments are made on a monthly basis and accrue costs if necessary. Attention to detail is required to find and address inventory variances. The successful candidate must be flexible and able to work as part of a tean.
