Job Description:

We are currently looking for a dynamic individual as an Account Manager – Polyurethanes for our Specialty Elastomers division at our facility located in Auburn Hills, MI.

The jobholder’s primary responsibility will focus on profitably growing sales in the area following the Elastomers business strategy.

This includes:

  • A hunter to seek new opportunities in addition to maintaining and growing existing business.
  • Utilizing C4C sales tools for timely call reports and lead tracking.
  • The job holder will establish a high standard of market intelligence for PU Elastomers market in the region, with particular focus on reviewing market share, product penetration in target markets, competitor’s product portfolio and competitor’s positioning in the market.
  • Lead and drive account plans, budget and forecasts to deliver the agreed strategic objectives of value and profit for the region, with an emphasis on profitable growth in Elastomers
  • Identifying and developing a distributionnetwork along with direct B2B sales.
  • To manage existing accounts while growing the Elastomer portfolio covering the Americas Region.

The job holder will be challenged to develop a strategic portfolio of Elastomer accounts that requires the ability to learn new markets and work within a wider organization.  This will include manufacturing, supply chain, customer service, technical and commercial team members internally as new and existing opportunities are developed with accounts.

What will be expected from you?

  • Lead and drive account plans, budget and forecasts to deliver the agreed strategic objectives of value and profit for the region, with an emphasis on profitable growth in Elastomers
  • Coordinate with Customer Service and Technical team members to deliver the service levels defined by the agreed upon business strategy for accounts
  • Strengthen and develop relationships with distributors to improve coverage at small and medium size accounts
  • Gather relevant market information for the Elastomers team to provide the basis to recommend strategies for action / growth in the strategic markets consistent with delivering the agreed strategic positioning
  • Negotiate sales prices with prospective accounts and implement price increases, or concessions at current customers
  • Effectively prepare and deliver sales presentations to upper management at customer sites and to internal commercial and technical groups
  • Effectively use Huntsman Sales Tools (C4C) to manage leads and call report
  • EHS and safety focused individual

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

  • A degree in Chemistrypreferred, but not required, with at least 5-years’ experience in a sales / account management role within the sector
  • Good knowledge of the Polyurethane Elastomers industry/market and of the customers’ industries would be HIGHLY desirable
  • Highly motivated and adaptable with the ability to contribute to an organization focused on delivering valuable results and continuous improvement
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Able to interact with various teams & departments at different levels
  • Flexible, Team player and can do/positive attitude
  • Strong follow up and relationship building skills required
  • Willingness to travel within the region (+-50%)
