Stantec is seeking a senior professional to serve as Account Manager within our Environmental Services group. The Account Manager’s role is to understand the client’s growth strategies, initiatives, needs, and expectations and then translate that understanding into project awards.
The Account Manager communicates the client’s needs and expectations, leads the marketing and pursuit of new opportunities, coordinates projects awarded to Stantec, and monitors project execution to ensure delivery is consistent with the client’s expectations.
The Account Manager works in collaboration with our Technical Leaders and Regional Client Managers to ensure client satisfaction, with the ultimate mission of becoming our client’s trusted advisor.
Your Key Responsibilities
Our ideal candidate will be geographically located east of the Mississippi and will have pre-existing relationships within manufacturing companies, along with a keen ability to organize information, communicate clearly, manage expectations, and provide a logical framework for customer service. This candidate will have sufficient understanding of our service offerings in order to identify opportunities to grow existing services, offer “other” or new services that meet client needs and expand our geographic coverage for the client.
Build, grow and develop a team of high performers to deliver a successful project
Provide leadership and project management on a wide variety of environmental services
Mentor staff as we grow our client base and workload
Grow 2-3 key accounts with a focus on environmental services
Actively participate in regional and national industry groups to advance the Stantec brand
Engage our clients in meaningful discussions about their most critical issues and translate those discussions into opportunities to deliver solutions
Introduce new Stantec service offerings to their client and exhibit trust that the Subject Matter Experts for these services will be committed to excellence in service delivery
Actively participate in proposal and pricing development
Identify trends and develop a long-term view of the industry, market and client base
Assist in the growth of ES by collaborating with our technical experts in the development of new service areas
Anticipate medium and long-term client needs and industry dynamics
Innovate and enhance ES’s Manufacturing capabilities, geographic foot-print and integrated approach
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Professional background in environmental services, right-of-way acquisition or engineering
Experience leading project teams to successful completion -
Demonstrated experience in team building, delivery of integrated services, and contract negotiation
Strong work ethic, sense of humor, and desire for team success
Travel is required to manage accounts throughout the US and occasionally internationally
Education and Experience
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering. Master’s preferred.
At least 10 years of relevant professional consulting experience, demonstrating progressive responsibility.
At least 5 years of experience with building client relations and developing business.
