The MFA Companies® Talent Acquisition Team is seeking a full time Account Manager to join our growing CPA customer specializing in the accounting and administration of government grants and contracts in the Greater Boston area.

The position will primarily focus on mastering the technical skills of our client's niche business. There typical client revenue ranges from $100,000 - $10M per year, so the technical issues are not particularly overwhelming, however requires a commitment to learning the nuances of government contract accounting. This position offers a great career path and growth plan, the long-term goal of this role is to develop into a manager of your own client base.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for client monthly accounting/closes
  • Preparation of annual incurred cost submission (requires development of an understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations and the Cost Accounting Standards)
  • Ability to master technical issues and control client relationships
  • Ability to effectively communicate with auditors and represent clients during financial and government audits
  • As preparation skills are being mastered, the role of planning and executing will become the main focus.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active CPA license
  • 10+ years' experience in accounting/auditing
  • Strong command of GAAP
  • Detail oriented professional with ability and desire to prepare and oversee a large volume of technical work
  • Must have tremendous work ethic and be able to juggle MANY jobs simultaneously and have the desire to manage and mentor junior staff in the future


$90K - $120K
